Good point, Dr. Broadly. I think Elon is testing the waters and creating a sensation. I don't think he would do something silly like this. He is a smart man, but his motives to do this crazy thing might be different, which we don't know yet.
Well, as far as I can tell, this hasn't yet happened—and Musk has proposed things like this before and then backed off.
I hope he does this time. I don't use Twitter much (I simply refuse to call it 'X'). But if I did? This would make me strongly reconsider that. There are too many trolls on social media, and I've got better things to do than worry about whether they're screenshotting a post of mine they don't like.
As I say, he's backed off on this before, but it's unpredictable. I honestly can't understand the rationale behind the move - but it will stifle a lot of conversations and drive a lot of people off the platform.
